Aug. 17, 2020
The business segments will operate as a division of Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems.

Hendrickson acquired the Motor Wheel brake drum and Crewson brake adjuster business segments, based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Berea, Kentucky, from STEMCO and parent company EnPro Industries.

The business segments will operate as a division of Hendrickson Truck Commercial Vehicle Systems. The Motor Wheel & Crewson names will be kept and used as a product name going forward.

“This acquisition will provide a platform for Hendrickson to advance our light-weight drum brake system performance and provide components that will complement our existing product portfolio,” said Gary Gerstenslager, president and chief executive officer Hendrickson. “We look forward to working with our new associates and strengthening our business ultimately serving the commercial truck and trailer industry.”

“We are pleased to know that these storied product offerings will continue to operate at a high level,” said Eric Vaillancourt, president, STEMCO. “Finding a tremendous partner like Hendrickson to ensure this smooth transition was a key factor is this decision as well.”

“On behalf of the entire EnPro organization, I want to express our great appreciation for the many contributions from our colleagues at STEMCO’s Motor Wheel and Crewson businesses” added Marvin Riley, president and CEO of EnPro Industries, parent company of STEMCO.

STEMCO will continue to operate the Motor Wheel and Crewson product lines until the sale is completed and Hendrickson assumes control of the business.
