Hello and welcome back to Market Moves Electric Vehicles, Endeavor Business Media's monthly look at everything EVs. While EV adoption has seemingly been on the rise, with some predicting they would take over ICE sales by 2040, from the car dealership perspective, that demand is over-represented on the lots. The same holds seemingly holds true for carmakers with EV start-ups cutting production outlooks to focus on moving inventory as some experts, as you’ll read later, say the boom may be over.
The pessimism around EVs isn’t a total consensus, though: the top story this issue covers the Department of Energy’s $3.5 billion investment into domestic battery manufacturing. Meanwhile, two big OEMs announced their intentions to buy battery suppliers and bidirectional charging takes center stage through a Toyota project.
