K&E Tools' new Power Torque Setter, the PTS-800E, is a programmable electronic torque control nutrunner designed to help reduce wheel-offs through its advanced tire torque control. The tool helps to eliminate over and under torque of truck lugs and reduce liability exposure. "Most service technicians use standard air impacts that generate up to 1,600 ft-lbs of torque on lugs that only require between 450-500 ft-lbs," the company says. "This can lead to damaged or cracked wheel studs which could lead to wheel-offs with catastrophic results." The Power Torque Setter offers accurate, repeatable and verifiable torque.
