New owners invest in new fleet of International trucks

Building on a legacy of 90 years in business, Minnesota less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier Lakeville Motor Express (LME) announced the purchase of a new fleet of International ProStar+ trucks.  The order of 165 International trucks from International truck dealer Boyer International in Rogers, Minn. represents one of several steps the company has taken to set the stage for future growth.

“Our focus is on delivering quality service and providing practical, economical solutions to everyday challenges our customers face,” said Shari Taylor Wilsey, Chairman, LME. “Our new fleet of Internationals will support our plans for continuing our track record of leading on-time delivery performance.”

Shari Taylor Wilsey and Roger Wilsey, Sr., CEO, recently assumed ownership of LME and are building on a track record of innovation. LME was named Commercial Carrier Journal’s Innovator of the Year in 2010 for its establishment of TRNET, an alliance of carriers providing 100 percent coverage of the United States, Canada and Mexico. The company is also a Top 100 Motor Carrier as ranked by Inbound Logistics magazine in 2010 and ranks among industry leaders with more than 97.8 percent on-time delivery.

“We are placing additional investments in information technology and training to ensure we’re ready to exceed customer expectations,” said Roger Wilsey, Sr. “With the addition of a new fleet of International trucks and other plans we have in place, we’re really excited about the future of LME.”

LME will receive service and parts support from Boyer International in Minnesota as well as from International’s network of more than 900 dealer locations. With the purchase of International trucks LME will have access to a suite of services called OnCommand™ by Navistar, which includes a number of solutions to control costs, provide training and manage the repair experience. One such service is Repair Advocate, which will provide LME with total oversight of the repairs through a dedicated team of advocates to ensure repairs progress as efficiently as possible.

“Navistar’s OnCommand is a service that has become highly valued by fleets across the country,” said David Olson, chief operating officer, Boyer International. “Services like Repair Advocate provide real-time fleet information through a dedicated customer website.”
