Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) encompasses several cities and towns with a combined population of nearly 400,000.

AssetWorks, a leading provider of fleet management software, automated fuel management systems and motor pool and car sharing management systems, announced that it has signed a contract with Halifax Region Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada to deploy its flagship fleet management software solution, FleetFocus. Halifax Regional Municipality becomes AssetWorks’ 17th municipal fleet customer in Canada.

Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) encompasses several cities and towns with a combined population of nearly 400,000 and provides services such as police and fire protection; community development and planning; engineering and public works; sewage treatment, parks and recreation facilities; solid waste management and public transit. With a current fleet size of 1,300 vehicles (including transit buses, police vehicles, fire vehicles, heavy equipment, passenger cars, and boats) that is poised to grow to 2,000 in coming years, HRM sought a system that can give them the ability to track all standard vehicle and preventive maintenance activities with proven costing models and comprehensive Asset Management functionality.

AssetWorks FleetFocus Fleet Management Software application can give HRM both the functionality and flexibility that it needs to manage its large and diverse fleet throughout its five maintenance facilities. FleetFocus also offers HRM the ability to have pre-programmed reports and job codes that match their current processes, yet gives them room to adapt the system to fit their needs as their fleet grows. HRM will also be able to take advantage of comprehensive reporting such as year-over-year tracking and comparisons that can illustrate trends which allow for fact-based management.
