Detroit Diesel Corporation (Detroit) has released new driver training videos for the Detroit Assurance suite of safety systems and the integrated Detroit Powertrain.

Introduced in 2014 and available for the Freightliner Cascadia Evolution and Cascadia equipped with Detroit engines, Detroit Assurance systems are seamlessly integrated into the truck’s dashboard, engine and transmission electronics. The Detroit Assurance video explains how the radar system features, such as active brake assist, adaptive cruise control and camera system featuring lane departure warning, work to mitigate collisions and keep the driver safe.

The integrated Detroit Powertrain video highlights how the Detroit DD15 engine, Detroit DT12 transmission and Detroit axles work together to improve efficiency. Specific tips on how drivers can most effectively utilize the downsped engine, faster axle ratios and the Intelligent Powertrain Management (IPM) are also provided.

Noted Brad Williamson, manager, powertrain marketing for Daimler Trucks North America: “From our products to our multimedia tutorials, we want to provide our customers and drivers with all of the resources that will help them achieve the best possible safety and the lowest real cost of ownership.”

In addition to the new series, available in the Driver Training section of DemandDetroit.com, Detroit videos can also be found through the Freightliner Sales Tool, the Demand Detroit app and YouTube.
