AVI Training Conference class to focus on GDI, VCT

Ron Bilyeu will teach attendees how to quickly diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems on VCT systems and how to determine if the failure has created a retarded or advanced timing problem.
By 2021 every gasoline engine produced will have gasoline direct injection (GDI) and vehicle CAM timing (VCT). There is no avoiding it.
Instead of resisting, technicians can embrace this technology and learn how to confirm a VCT problem.
As part of the 2015 AVI Training Conference - held alongside AAPEX in Las Vegas - this class, sponsored by PTEN and Mitchell 1, ASE Master Technician and instructor Ron Bilyeu will teach attendees how to quickly diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems on VCT systems and how to determine if the failure has created a retarded or advanced timing problem. He will cover testing techniques utilizing the power of scan tools, lab scopes and in-cylinder pressure transducers.
The class will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4 from 3:15 to 4:45 PM.
