SOLD16 presents top new tools and equipment to shop owners and managers

Attendees received a walking tour and exclusive access to the tool and equipment section of HDAW.

The fourth annual SOLD event, SOLD16, featured two days of training presentations and seminars for commercial vehicle aftermarket professionals. The event was held Jan. 24-25 at the Mirage in Las Vegas.

PTEN Editor Erica Schulz-Schueller provided SOLD16 attendees an exclusive walking tour of the Tool & Equipment Expo during the "Announcement of Best New Tools and Equipment Winners" segment, prior to the start of HDAW '16.  

Six companies were recognized by SOLD16 for their latest tool and equipment offerings to the heavy duty aftermarket. The seminar highlighted the following products:

  1. ACDelco Auto & Equipment Tools hand tools, air and cordless power tools 
    • presented by Nicholas Bush, national sales manager, ACDelco Auto & Equipment Tools
  2. Bee Line Company LC7500 alignment system, 2200 rear axle alignment system
    • presented by Mike Baxley, president, Bee Line Co. 
  3. Rotary Lift line of heavy duty lifts
    • presented by Doug Spiller, heavy duty product manager, Rotary Lift
  4. Gray Manufacturing line of heavy duty mobile column lifts
    • presented by Todd Michalski, vce president, Gray Manufacturing
  5. DCM Tech Corp. Flywheel Grinder 
    • presented by Randy Taylor, sales manager, DCM Tech Corp. 
  6. Delphi Diesel Aftermarket Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Cleaner
    • presented by William Staiger, senior account manager, Delphi Diesel Aftermarket 

Each representative provided a brief presentation highlighting the features and benefits of their tools. Attendees were then encouraged to stop by the booths after the presentations to ask additional questions and see product demonstrations. Other tool and equipment vendors were also on-hand for attendees to visit with after the presentation. 

Other events during SOLD16 included a full-day session with Robert (Bob) Greenwood with a Heavy Duty Workshop Business Management Session focused on service business management, covering service manager and general manager positions in the heavy duty market. Day two focused heavily on recruitment and hiring in the heavy duty market, with sessions covering how to recruit young talent, working with accredited schools to find employees, a panel discussion on how suppliers and distributors can work together to recruit a younger generation of employees, as well as the announcement of best new tool and equipment winners.
