The ribbed exterior of Webb Wheel's transit drums provide more surface area than competitor products, which improves the dissipation of excessive heat that normally builds up in the brake area of transit vehicles. Additionally, the company offers vented drums that provide increased drum cooling (improved air flow) during transit vehicle operation. To address the special needs of this market segment, Webb Wheel has recently announced the formation of the Transit Business Unit.
