KYB Training Vehicle Hits the Streets:
In keeping with their focus on education and training, KYB is taking their popular Video Training Series on the road with a custom-built Toyota 4Runner overlanding vehicle.
The KYB ‘4Trainer’ will utilize an audio/video system and product displays for onsite education programs, as well as provide immediate access to the KYB Video Training Series. The 4Trainer will showcase KYB products and it features the newly introduced KYB JAOS adjustable suspension lift kits. The vehicle will also be used to educate consumers on the need for increased performance when running larger wheels and tires, hauling, or towing.
The integrated KYB Video Training Series consists of a series of short videos and quizzes for Parts Pros and Service Technicians. Professionals will learn how critical shocks are to vehicle control and safety systems, how to determine if shocks are worn enough to recommend replacement, and techniques focused on increasing their ride control replacement business.
Each Service Technician who completes the program will receive a KYB long sleeve t-shirt, and Parts Professionals completing the program will receive their choice of KYB hats. The interactive, self-paced KYB Video Training Series can also be found at www.kyb.com/training.
Watch for a special 4Trainer feature on Truck U, airing December 4 on MotorTrendTV. The KYB 4Trainer will be making appearances throughout the U.S. and Canada. Automotive Professionals can contact their local KYB Sales Manager to request an appearance.
KYB Introduces the JAOS Line of Suspension Products to North America:
KYB Americas Corporation has announced a new partnership with Japan Offroad Service that will make KYB JAOS Suspension products available in North America through KYB distributors. Since 1985, JAOS has designed and manufactured a complete line of quality accessories and components for import and Jeep sport utility vehicles.
The new KYB JAOS line will kick off with lift kits for the Jeep Wrangler JK, as well as the Toyota 4Runner and FJ Cruiser. These Suspension Lift Kits provide up to a 2” lift as well as 14 position damping. An adjustable dial at the base of each KYB manufactured shock and strut allows for 14 different rebound and compression settings. The 14 settings allow the user to manually adjust the suspension for vehicle loads, larger tires and wheels and varying road conditions. Each kit comes complete with two shocks or struts, two coil springs and other installation products as needed. Front and rear kits for the vehicles listed are currently available. Additional products for the Jeep Wrangler JL and Toyota 4Runner are scheduled to be released soon.
Continuing their tradition of utilizing offroad racing as a development platform, JAOS, along with KYB, will be entering a Lexus LX600 to compete in the upcoming 2022 Baja 1000.
KYB releases new “Consumer Reaction” videos:
In a series of new videos, KYB Americas Corporation has documented the difference new shocks and struts make for vehicle owners. The company’s new “Consumer Reaction” videos capture three different drivers’ impressions of how their older vehicles ride and handle before and after installing new KYB shocks and struts.
To establish a baseline, all three drivers performed a road test on public roads in real world conditions before the installation of new shocks. The drivers each gave an account on camera of how their vehicles handled challenging road conditions and driving maneuvers. After new KYB shocks and struts were installed, the same road tests were repeated. All three vehicle owners were highly impressed with the dramatic improvements the new KYB shocks and struts made to the ride quality and handling performance of their vehicles.
According to Andy Castleman, Brand Manager for KYB Americas Corporation, “Vehicle owners are not usually aware that their shocks and struts are worn, since it happens gradually over time. When you watch the new videos, the drivers’ reactions and performance of the vehicles speak for themselves!”
The new videos are part of the ongoing effort by KYB to educate vehicle owners on the role that worn shocks and struts play in a loss of driving comfort and safety.
