The Acustrip Wear Metals Test, No. 70044, identifies the presence of copper, iron and nickel as well as the degree of each, in any fluid. A drop of liquid is placed on a chemically treated paper, and the results are identified within a minute, the company says. Each metal has its own section on the paper. The test is designed for field use instead of having analysis performed in a laboratory. When used regularly, the Wear Metals Test can allow technicians and operators to trend wear on engines and equipment component parts. The results can lead to less maintenance costs, higher operating efficiencies and increase in engine and component life.
