Origin

One of the KNIPEX engineers in Germany noticed when using competitor snap knifes the thin blade easily bent when extended. He thought there had to be a better design to keep the blade from bending and provide more stability. That’s when he came up with the idea to add a stabilization bar and the idea grew from there.

Features and benefits

  • Two separate sliders - one for blade and one for stabilization bar.
  • Uses standard 18mm snap-off blades.
  • Blades can be easily replaced without tools with just a push of the button.
  • Lightweight magnesium housing with non-slip gripping surfaces.
  • Two spare blades stored in the handle.
  • Tether attachment point can be used with the KNIPEX Tethered Tools System.

Selling points

  • Stabilization bar keeps the extended blade rigid, so it does not bend making cutting easier.
  • Easy blade change without using tools.
  • Sturdy design.
