GAAS Scholarship Fund announces Dayco scholarship recipients
The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium Scholarship (GAAS) Fund announced the two recipients of $1,000 scholarships provided by funding from Dayco Automotive Aftermarket.
Dayco established its scholarships through the GAAS Scholarships in memory of its late president Don Bethune and Gerald Bugenhagen, its former North Eastern regional sales manager, both of whom died in 2012.
Ashlee Strunk of Idyllwild, Calif., is the recipient of the 2014 Don Bethune Memorial Scholarship. Zachary Morgan of Wenonah, N.J., is the 2014 Gerald Bugenhagen Memorial Scholarship recipient.
“We are pleased to support the GAAS scholarship fund with these awards and to honor the memories of Don and Gerald, and their many contributions to the industry,” said Ed Rammel, president, Dayco North American Aftermarket. “This investment in the industry’s future is a fitting remembrance.”
“One of the primary goals of the GAAS scholarship fund is to bring new talent into the automotive aftermarket and Dayco’s generous donations have allowed us to continue to strive toward this goal,” said Pete Kornafel, chairman of the GAAS scholarship committee.
