Gabriel®, the originator of The world's first automotive shock absorber in 1907, announced that it was a recipient of the prestigious AutoZone Extra Miler Award

AutoZone, Inc. is the nation’s leading retailer and a leading distributor of auto parts and accessories. The award was presented at the AutoZone Vendor Summit 2012 held in Memphis, Tenn. More than 700 top AutoZone and supplier executives attended the event and Gabriel was selected for this award from among a pool of close to 500 suppliers.

“Being on the cutting edge of coverage isn’t easy, but it is key, and this vendor delivers. Their new part number introduction has been non-stop, providing us late model applications we need for our DIY and commercial businesses," says Bill Edwards, AutoZone vice president of merchandising, customer satisfaction who presented the award. He concluded that Gabriel's "support has resulted in increased sales and increased customer satisfaction."

An Extra Miler recipient is defined by AutoZone as "One who is unfazed by obstacles, goes above and beyond the call of duty, exceeds expectations and consistently does more than expected."

Lisa Bahash, president and CEO of Gabriel accepted the award. "Gabriel appreciates this recognition from AutoZone http://www.searchautoparts.com/motorage/news-service- repair/autozone-partners-carhelpcom-improve-standard- service," says Bahash. "We received this award because of the efforts of the entire Gabriel family, not one team or one facility or one group of individuals. It took little time and big efforts, every day, by every individual at Gabriel. Congratulations to the entire Gabriel organization."
