Federal-Mogul Motorparts names new president, Asia Pacific

Keith Power, 53, has been appointed President, Asia Pacific for Federal-Mogul Motorparts. Power also has become a Senior Vice President of the Southfield, Mich.-based executive leadership team of Federal-Mogul Motorparts.

Keith Power, 53, has been appointed President, Asia Pacific for Federal-Mogul Motorparts. Upon his appointment, Power, a permanent resident of Australia, also becomes the Senior Vice President of the Southfield, Michigan-based executive leadership team of Federal-Mogul Motorparts.

From his new base in Shanghai, China, he will provide leadership to regional teams operating out of offices in China, India and the newly created SEAP office in Singapore with a mandate for accelerated growth.

One of his first moves was to appoint Joe McFadries to head up the South East Asia Pacific region. McFadries will be dually based in Sydney and Singapore.

Federal-Mogul's stable of automotive brands include Champion® and Ferodo®. The company has a 115-year history and Champion spark plugs were used in the Model T Ford and also in F1.

Prior to joining Federal-Mogul, Power was Managing Director of the Automotive and Aerospace Coatings business unit of AkzoNobel's Asia Pacific region based in Singapore and previously held various senior sales and marketing positions with AkzoNobel in The Netherlands, Bridgestone in Australia; and with SHV Gas in the U.K. and Poland.

Power completed the International Management Program jointly delivered by Stanford University, California, and the National University of Singapore (NUS). He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was awarded a Fellowship by the U.K.'s Institute of Transport Management for “his outstanding contribution to green transport” in 1998.
