MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association, announced the formation of its MEMA Sustainability Council, a new platform designed to support sustainability leaders across the vehicle supplier industry. As stated in a press release, the council will serve as a hub for sustainability executives and professionals to share best practices, collaborate on solutions, and drive progress in sustainability initiatives.
Standing on the legacy of the MEMA Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability Council, this new initiative reflects MEMA’s commitment to expanding its reach and addressing the growing importance of sustainability in the automotive sector. The council is open to sustainability leaders from supplier-member companies across MEMA OE Suppliers and MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers. Starting in 2025, council members will meet quarterly in metro Detroit, with virtual participation options available.
"This is an exciting time for the MEMA Center for Sustainability and our members in the vehicle supplier industry," said John Chalifoux, Chief Sustainability Officer, MEMA. "The launch of the MEMA Sustainability Council aligns with our mission to meet members wherever they are on their sustainability journey."
