Auto parts manufacturer LKQ Corporation reported a cybersecurity incident affecting its Canadian operations, according to Security Week. The company discovered unauthorized IT system access on November 13, causing disruptions that lasted several weeks.

LKQ, which operates 1,600 locations across 24 countries and employs 45,000 people, stated that the impacted business unit is now operating near full capacity. The company believes the incident will not materially affect its financial condition or annual results.

LKQ plans to seek reimbursement for related costs through its cybersecurity insurance. The origin and perpetrator of the attack remain unidentified, with no threat actor claiming responsibility.

The company continues to investigate the incident and has not disclosed additional details about the nature or extent of the unauthorized system access.
