Auto parts manufacturer Tenneco has announced plans to lay off 140 employees at its El Paso, Texas, facility, with separations scheduled to occur in five waves beginning February 15, 2025. The affected positions include 99 production technicians, 11 maintenance technicians, six production supervisors, and various other roles, including engineering and customer service positions.
As reported by My San Antonio, the El Paso downsizing, detailed in a WARN notice filed with the Texas Workforce Commission, coincides with similar workforce reductions across the company, including 242 planned layoffs in Tennessee. The move appears to be part of Tenneco's ongoing restructuring efforts, which date back to 2008 when the company eliminated 1,100 positions globally.
Tenneco, an international vehicle parts manufacturer that has been around since 1930, was acquired by Apollo Funds in 2022.
