Zan Martin, founder and president of Martin & Company Advertising, has announced her retirement and the closure of her agency after 32 years of operation. The agency will permanently close on March 6, 2025.
Martin's career in the performance automotive aftermarket spans five decades, including service on the Specialty Equipment Market Association board of directors from 2009-2011. During her SEMA tenure, she chaired the marketing task force and the Business Women's Network, where she established the SBN Mentorship program.
The agency, founded with her late husband Randal Martin, provided marketing services for prominent aftermarket brands including Rancho, Kelderman Air Ride, American Powertrain, and E3 Spark Plugs. Following the closure, Martin will continue offering consultative services for SEMA start-ups.
"The performance aftermarket has been central to my career since 1985," said Martin. "I take pride that we provided cost-effective, yet ground-breaking marketing services to build brand equity and grow sales.
"I relish the many careers that were launched from our home-based agency and the opportunity I had to mentor rising stars in our industry. The closure of Martin & Company is bittersweet, but I look forward to my next chapter that will allow me to spend more time with my family and ministry and to concentrate on assisting start-ups as they navigate this crowded marketplace."
