Who cares what your problem is? The customer sure doesn't! Make sure you set the right tone for a sale.

Customer: Hi, Mr. Mobile Tool Dealer, how are you?

Mobile Tool Dealer: "I feel like crap. Business is slow. My wife is on my case about the roof on the house and the weather sucks.”

Customer: Yeah, you’re right! Business is slow, my kids need new shoes and the weather really is bad. You know I really don’t think I‘m going to buy that new tool today."

This customer might have been in a great mood before you reminded him how bad he should feel. Even when it hurts the answer is ... I feel great!
