Utilizing distributor resources

June 3, 2015

Because Klug is an independent, he can only purchase inventory from warehouse distributors. He works solely with Integrated Supply Network (ISN) because of the company’s customer service, and low number of back orders. He started buying from ISN in 1995.

“I only purchase from ISN.  Haven't used anyone else in at least 15 years,” says Klug.

Klug also stresses the importance of attending the tool shows, to educate himself on products.

“When ISN has their show, I can’t wait. I talk to every salesperson. ‘Tell me about this tool. Tell me about that tool. How do I sell this tool?’” says Klug. “In our profession, if you don’t go to shows like that, you’re crazy.”

Klug works closely with his sales representative, Lindsay Coates. She helps him with questions throughout the day and is an integral part of his business.

Klug says that while Coates is newer to the tool business, she’s knowledgeable and eager to assist Klug with his business. “She's a smart gal and has recommended several new items to me that have been home runs,” says Klug. “I count on her.”
