Tool Review: Eppco Tiger Grip Gloves

Aug. 22, 2019
The durability and built-in grip of these gloves impressed the reviewer.

The review:

Matt Fanslow, diagnostic technician and shop manager at Riverside Automotive in Red Wing, Minnesota, provided a review of the Tiger Grip Gloves after he and the other technicians at Riverside Automotive used them in on-the-job applications.

Fanslow says the Tiger Grip Gloves arrived as expected, packaged in similar fashion to any professional glove set. No setup was required, no manual was needed, and as easy to wear as any, the Tiger Grip Gloves were ready to be put to the test from the time they were taken out of the box.

“You could name a job, and they were probably worn during [it],” Fanslow says. He attests to the versatility of the gloves and their ability to save time, claiming that those in the shop were spending far less time washing their hands, and that the grip improved their grasp on tools, resulting in fewer drops.

“The grips really do help," Fanslow says. "They don’t interfere with your ability to feel what you are picking up, but they give just that little bit of grip that is not only better than other gloves, but better than bare handed[ness].”

Riverside Automotive uses tablets in the shop, and Fanslow says the gloves did not need to be removed in order to utilize the touchscreens.

The durability of the gloves also impressed this reviewer.

“We’ve used [a competitive brand] for years, and they tear often" Fanslow says. "These [Tiger Grip Gloves] hold up much, much better. Not permanent by any means, but a pair of gloves can easily last all morning or afternoon.”

“I can’t say there is anything I didn’t like,” Fanslow concludes. “The best thing I can say is that after reviewing these gloves, we immediately ordered a case due to our technicians' feedback and requests.”
