Jan. 30, 2014
Companies continue to help people buy used cars with confidence.

Carfax announced the renewal of its nine-year partnership with Cars.com that allows dealers to include Carfax Vehicle History Reports on their Cars.com listings. Today, Carfax has more than 27,000 dealers who have already chosen to offer free Carfax Reports to build consumer confidence in their online listings.

"We've been listing our cars at Cars.com for years," said Rizwan Durrani, pre-owned sales director at Fred Haas Toyota World. "We choose to offer Carfax Reports on all of our vehicles. They have information about accidents and service we can't get anywhere else. Our customers look for the Carfax Report in our online listings and ask for it by name. Once they've reviewed the report, they come in more ready to buy."

Since 2005, Carfax Reports have been available for the used vehicle listings of subscribing dealers on Cars.com. Additionally, consumers have free access to these reports directly on hundreds of thousands of Cars.com vehicle listings. Recently announced results of an independent study prove that dealers using Carfax in their online listings engage more visitors and improve lead conversions.

"The continuation of our long-standing partnership with Carfax allows us to provide a better experience on our site for dealers, while building consumer confidence in a dealer's inventory," said Barbara Mousigian, vice president of product at Cars.com. "By working with Carfax, we are making sure thousands of dealers can continue to offer Carfax Vehicle History Reports with vehicles they list on Cars.com, providing consumers access to more free reports across our used car inventory. We're pleased that our companies will continue working together on innovations that help our dealer customers be more successful."

With an average of 27 million visits monthly, Cars.com is a top destination for online car shoppers.

"Thousands of our dealer customers use Cars.com to sell their vehicles," said Bill Eager, vice president of Carfax. "Over the past 30 years Carfax Reports have become an important selling tool, like pictures, videos, vehicle details and a price. We're looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Cars.com."
