The Owner-Operators Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) was gifted a Western Star 5700XE to be used for its "Spirit of the American Trucker" tour.
The Spirit Truck was presented to its driver, Jon Osborn, on April 27 at Western Star's 50th anniversary event in Phoenix. Osborn will drive the 82" high roof sleeper to truck stops and industry events in the U.S. to promote independent truck drivers and OOIDA current events.
Powered by a Detroit DD16 engine with 560hp and 1850 ft/lbs of torque, the 5700XE features Detroit front and rear axles and Detroit DT12 automated manual transmission.
