Utility expands dry van manufacturing plant in Paragould, AR

Sept. 17, 2012
22,000 square foot expansion includes a new modification center that accommodates more customized trailers with complex or multiple options

Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company, a manufacturer of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and Tautliner curtainsided trailers is pleased to announce the expansion of Utility's dry van manufacturing plant located in Paragould, Arkansas.

The 22,000 square foot expansion includes a new modification center that accommodates more customized trailers with complex or multiple options. "With our customers' growing demand for Utility trailers, the expansion will allow us to successfully meet those demands and manufacture more high option trailers while continuing to increase production of standard type trailers," said David Neighbors, Utility's Paragould Plant Manager.

Utility estimates that the expansion will result in hiring over 50 additional employees to accommodate the increased production. The modification center has been expanded to include 12 new drive-through trailer bays and an additional employee lunchroom. The full expansion is expected to be finished in late September.

Utility currently operates five trailer manufacturing facilities across the United States. The Clearfield, Utah and Marion, Virginia plants manufacture Utility's #1 selling 3000R refrigerated trailer. Utility's 4000D-X Composite and 4000D dry van trailers are manufactured in Glade Spring, Virginia, and Paragould, Arkansas. Utility also has a facility in Enterprise, Alabama that manufactures flatbeds and Tautliners.
