Nov. 23, 2012
The milestone production of its 100,000th TriPac auxiliary power unit (APU) took place in its Hastings, NE manufacturing plant.

Thermo King, a manufacturer of transport temperature control systems for a variety of mobile applications and a brand of Ingersoll Rand, is celebrating the milestone production of its 100,000th TriPac auxiliary power unit (APU) in its Hastings, NE, manufacturing plant.

The TriPac APU provides heating and cooling without idling the tractor engine. This unit increases sustainability and keeps drivers comfortable and productive while delivering significant fuel savings. This solution, which Thermo King first introduced in 2005, also helps ensure anti-idling compliance. Because the tractor engine isn't running, users can greatly increase maintenance intervals, saving time and money.
