Frost & Sullivan to host online presentation on global automotive aftermarket boom on April 9

April 2, 2013
Attendees must register online; presentation is free.

Stephen Spivey, Frost & Sullivan's automotive and transportation aftermarket research program leader, will present an online presentation on "the approaching global automotive aftermarket boom" on Tuesday, April 9 at 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time. The presentation is free but participants must regiser online. Questions will be taken following the presentation.

Frost & Sullivan provided the following background on the presentation:

Given the high growth in the total number of passenger vehicles in the world, more motorists will be looking for businesses to provide parts and service in order to keep their cars on the road. However, distribution channels and service networks are virtually non-existent throughout parts of Asia, Latin America and even Europe, causing vehicle owners to pay high prices due to having such few options. This briefing will highlight emerging, unmet needs in the global automotive aftermarket that could provide new opportunities for companies across the value chain.

This briefing will benefit component manufacturers, distributors, vehicle manufacturers and the investor community by highlighting growth markets for automotive parts and service, as well as key trends, such as the increasing amount of electronic content requiring repair or replacement, supporting demand for aftermarket products across the world.

"The number of passenger cars in use worldwide will grow from about 1 billion units today to approximately 1.3 billion units in 2020. While much of the growth is driven by the high rate of new car ownership in China, we are also seeing more people throughout Latin American and parts of Europe driving their own vehicles for the first time," observed Spivey. "This will lead to a corresponding increased demand for automotive parts and service across the world, as well as new business opportunities to meet the maintenance and repair needs of so many more vehicles."

A live question and answer session will follow the presentation.
