Research shows solid Class 5-8 retail sales for April

Retail sales for Classes 5-8 posted solid gains in April according to the latest State of the Industry report, recently released by ACT Research Co. (ACT). The report covers Classes 5 through 8 vehicles for the North American market.

Retail sales for Classes 5-8 posted solid gains in April according to the latest State of the Industry report, recently released by ACT Research Co. (ACT). The report covers Classes 5 through 8 vehicles for the North American market.

“Class 8 retail sales rose 6 percent month over month to their best reading in six months at 23,100 units, and the strongest sales months of the year are yet to come,” said Steve Tam, vice president-commercial vehicle sector at ACT Research Co., LLC. “Classes 5-7 retail sales rose nearly 14 percent month over month to 20,100 units, their highest level since March 2007,” he added. Year to date, Class 8 sales are up 9 percent and Classes 5-7 sales are up 13 percent.
