Steve McShane, founder and chief executive officer of Midtronics, Inc. was named the recipient of the 2014 McGladrey Lifetime Achievement Award during the firm’s annual Manufacturing & Distribution Executive Summit on Nov. 18. McGladrey LLP is a leading provider of assurance, tax and consulting services.
The McGladrey Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a distinguished Chicago-area business executive who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in business and civic involvement, as well as significant contributions to the community, thereby setting an example for future business leaders.
“McGladrey is proud to recognize Steve for his exceptional accomplishments in his industry and the leadership he’s shown in the Chicago business community,” said David Sterling, national tax leader of McGladrey’s mergers and acquisitions tax practice.
“I’m honored to accept this award that recognizes the achievements of Midtronics, our exceptional leadership team and our global workforce,” said McShane. “This year we celebrate our 30th anniversary. I am very proud of the accomplishments of our team and appreciate this recognition of our success.”
McShane founded Midtronics in 1984 with the introduction of innovative conductance-based battery testing technology for the automotive market. Five years later, Midtronics developed the first product for testing stationary batteries in telecommunications systems.
