MAHLE Aftermarket expands range for heavy duty, agricultural and industrial machinery

Oct. 1, 2015
As of January 2016, MAHLE Aftermarket will be distributing starter motors, alternators and electric motors for heavy duty, agricultural and industrial machinery under the MAHLE Original brand, thereby expanding its service offering.

Following the 2014 acquisition of Slovenia-based component manufacturer for motor vehicle electric systems Letrika by the MAHLE Group, the integration of Letrika into the MAHLE family of companies is also expanding the MAHLE Aftermarket competence in this segment. As of January 2016, MAHLE Aftermarket will be distributing starter motors, alternators and electric motors for heavy duty, agricultural and industrial machinery under the MAHLE Original brand, thereby expanding its service offering.

Primary changes as a result of the acquisition include the April 1 renaming of the company to MAHLE Letrika. “Letrika has earned an excellent reputation for being a technologically innovative supplier of very high quality products to the heavy duty, agricultural and industrial markets,” said Jon Douglas, General Manager, MAHLE Aftermarket North America.

“That quality, technology, construction, and production that Letrika products are known for will remain unchanged.”

MAHLE Aftermarket Inc. has announced they will be integrating the sales, marketing and distribution of Letrika aftermarket and OE products into their North American operations. The Letrika trademark will continue to be used until January 1, 2016. Beginning January 1, 2016 the Letrika brand of starter motors, alternators, and electric motors will go to market under the MAHLE Original brand.

“The MAHLE Aftermarket distribution and marketing resources are known for being among the best in the industry,” said Bob Hopko, North American Aftermarket and OES Sales & Marketing Manager for MAHLE Letrika.

“With these added capabilities, we will take MAHLE Letrika to the next level.”
