Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) announced an addition to the used truck, Select Limited Warranty coverage options available through its used truck retail network, SelecTrucks. The new warranty will cover the After-Treatment System (ATS) on both Detroit and Cummins engines, a service not offered by others. The warranty is available on used Freightliner and Western Star trucks. Covered repairs can be completed at any Freightliner or Western Star authorized service center in the United States and Canada.

The new ATS warranty covers major system components including the diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC), the selective catalyst Reduction (SCR), and both the Doser Injector and the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) injector. In addition, the coverage includes temperature and pressure sensors. A key feature included in this warranty is coverage for the failure of the diesel particulate filter (DPF) which could potentially cost customers up to $2,500. The cost to replace an entire ATS, without this warranty, could easily exceed $10,000.

Bryan Howard, director of SelecTrucks sales and distribution for Daimler Trucks Remarketing shared, “Due to the ever increasing cost and complexity of Exhaust After-Treatment Systems required to meet EPA emissions standards, drivers want to feel more assured that their investment is protected. The best way to give them peace of mind is to offer the coverage they need, and we’ve done just that with our new ATS warranty.”

By introducing this new ATS warranty coverage option, SelecTrucks is providing an exclusive high level of support on used Freightliner and Western Star trucks and helping customers manage the increasing costs of maintaining today’s trucks that meet stricter EPA requirements.
