FlowBelow Aero Inc. has partnered with C.R. England to equip 200 new Western Star 5700 XE tractors with FlowBelow’s complete fuel saving Tractor AeroKit system.

FlowBelow Aero Inc., a manufacturer of tractor-mounted aerodynamic products, announced that it has partnered with C.R. England, one of the world’s largest refrigerated trucking companies, to equip 200 new Western Star 5700 XE tractors with FlowBelow’s complete fuel saving Tractor AeroKit system.

“We are always looking for opportunities to improve the safety and efficiency of our fleet and reward our drivers for their hard work and dedication,” said Ron Hall, V.P. of equipment and fuel at C.R. England. “These top of the line Western Star trucks offer best-in-class safety and aerodynamic features such as adaptive cruise, forward collision mitigation, hill-start technologies and the FlowBelow Tractor AeroKit.”

The FlowBelow Tractor AeroKit includes quick-release wheel covers and a pair of tandem fairings installed on the tractor that work together as a complete aerodynamic system to address the complex airflow around the exposed rear wheels of the tractor. The patented AeroKit system reduces aerodynamic drag and improves fuel efficiency of the tractor by 2.23 percent.

“FlowBelow’s push-and-turn, quick-release wheel covers are easy for drivers to operate and in addition to increasing fuel efficiency, the complete system improves driver safety by stabilizing the tractor, reducing road spray and increasing visibility for the driver,” said Josh Butler, president of FlowBelow.

Fleets purchasing Western Star or Freightliner tractors can now specify FlowBelow products through their dealer, any Freightliner pre-delivery inspection center or through the Fontaine Modification Center. The Tractor AeroKit weighs can be installed in less than one hour per truck.
