Setting a record for the fastest recorded alternative fuel conversion to propane autogas, Alliance AutoGas conversion technicians Stephen Holland and Stacey Snyder installed Alliance’s latest Engineered Conversion System on a Bi-Fuel 2016 3.5L Ford F-150 V6 almost 30 minutes faster than the predicted two-hour window at the recent Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. Over 100 participants attended the press event and witnessed the live conversion at the Indianapolis Convention Center on March 3.
Alliance AutoGas’ Engineered Fuel System features a single plug wiring connector featured a 21-gal underbody autogas tank. All wiring is a “plug and play” no cut install. Everything is bracketed and designed to be installed without any drilling or fabrication. By deploying these features, labor times and conversion costs are significantly reduced.
Ed Hoffman, president of Blossman Services, Inc., the equipment distributor for Alliance AutoGas, adds, “The live, record-setting conversion of the F-150 at the Work Truck Show proved that Alliance’s EPA and NFPA 58 compliant system can indeed be installed in far less than half the time of other products in the market without any permanent vehicle modifications. We are also confident in saying that fleets can experience a positive ROI with a partial asset life when reduced conversion costs are coupled with low, stable fuel prices as well as our warranty that doubles the industry standard.”
Stuart Weidie, president of Alliance AutoGas, who spoke at the live conversion event, adds “We are proud that our innovative and elegant fuel system design was installed in far less time than we ever anticipated. Alliances’ state of the art technology is the most durable alternatives fuel system available in the United States, and we are also pleased about the positive environmental impact. It is a winner in all regards. It is a definitive message that our system will take the lead on reducing costs and any barriers associated with fleet conversions going forward throughout North America.”
In early May of this year, the converted F-150 will embark on a 5,300-mile trip commencing in Kansas City, Kan., travel to Portland, Ore., across the country to Jacksonville, Fla., and complete its journey in Asheville, N.C., on May 20. The Alliance AutoGas Clean Air Coast-to-Coast Ride, supported by partners and sponsors, will show real time results of a cleaner, domestically- produced, and cost effective fuel option for fleets. Additionally, the goal of the ride is to provide awareness to the general public and industry on the importance and effectiveness of reducing C0₂ emissions by using propane autogas. By using autogas, air quality is greatly improved and there is a reduction in the black carbon particulate matter that has such a negative impact on lung health. The Propane Education Partner is the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC), the Charity Partner of this endeavor is the American Lung Association of the Southeast Inc., local Re-Fueling Stop Hosts include 12 Clean Cities Coalitions, and the Media Partner is Bobit Business Media. Other Clean Air Coast–to- Coast Ride sponsors are Blossman Gas, Worthington Industries, and Blue Star Gas.
