Bergstrom Inc., a global leader in the design and supply of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) solutions to OEM and aftermarket off-highway customers across the world, has been recognized as one of the outstanding suppliers by the school bus manufacturer Blue Bird Corporation.
The award, announced in September at Blue Bird’s annual Supplier Conference in Macon, Georgia, recognizes commitment to quality, innovation, service and cost management.
“We’re thrilled to receive this recognition from our friends at Blue Bird,” said Bergstrom President and CEO Jack Shaffer. “Blue Bird is a valued partner and we’ve worked very hard with them to collectively shorten lead times for inventory, eliminate waste and identify new cost-effective opportunities.”
Bergstrom was selected as an outstanding supplier from a pool of roughly 380 suppliers. Blue Bird employees nominate suppliers and then a selection committee, made up of a cross-functional team of Blue Bird employees, selects the winners. Attributes taken into consideration include quality metrics, scorecards, on-time delivery, cost management opportunities, innovative ideas, support in aftermarket in parts and service.
“Bergstrom has shown very strong support in R&D by collaboratively working together with our team to help find ways to eliminate waste and become more cost effective,” said Jay Rojek, director of purchasing at Blue Bird. “We look forward to continuing to work with Bergstrom in the future.”
