The Heavy Duty Manufacturers Association (HDMA), the commercial vehicle division of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA), and event partner MacKay and Company, revealed details on Parts and Service: The Fleet Perspective at the 8th annual Heavy Duty Aftermarket Dialogue (HDAD) conference.

Parts and Service: The Fleet Perspective is comprised of a diverse group of fleet executives, including a nationwide for-hire carrier, a large nationwide private carrier, and two smaller regional carriers – a Midwest carrier specializing in the food grade industry and a commodity hauler from the West, specifically:

  • Tanya Morrow, president, Ploger Transportation
  • Bob Phipps, maintenance director, Bettendorf Trucking
  • Scott Reed, senior vice president of maintenance, Werner Enterprises
  • Keshav Sondhi, director, fleet engineering and sustainability, PepsiCo

Panelists will provide their perspectives on trade cycles, parts purchasing, maintenance practices, inventory practices, and supplier expectations. Additionally, the panel will discuss successful practices inside their businesses, including technology advances, component specifications, and service issues. Session leader Stu MacKay, president emeritus of MacKay & Company, will lead the panelists through a lively conversation addressing these topics and more.

Additional HDAD sessions will feature individual presenters and executive panel discussions with primary topics that include:

  • The real-world view: a global perspective
  • Trade policy and impacts on the aftermarket
  • The global aftermarket overview
  • Aftermarket industry economy and outlook
  • The blurring lines of aftermarket distribution
  • Future aftermarket technology

HDAD will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 7 AM – 5 PM in the Texas Ballroom at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Conference Center in Grapevine, Texas. The conference is co-presented by HDMA and MacKay & Company and will immediately precede Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW) 2020.
