TrendLens interactive data platform adds new features

June 30, 2021

The Auto Care Association has added three new features to their TrendLens interactive industry data platform: interactive tool tips, Pearson correlation coefficient, and updated demand index product groups. With over 50 economic and industry indicator data categories, users are able to take a closer look at data analytics and discover industry trends. Every Auto Care Association member has access to the TrendLens platform.

Interactive tool tips

This feature allows users to select any data points of interest, including data in the "Indexed Comparison" view on the platform. After selecting the data points, users then can utilize the graph created to view how that metric has performed.

Pearson correlation coefficient

While comparing any two data points using the "Trends Comparision" tool, users can now see how the indices correlate. To get this coefficient, the covariance of the two variables is divided by the product of their standard deviations. A strong potential relationship between two variables will be indicated through a higher number and darker color displayed in the graph. This feature also works for Demand Index product data.

Updated demand index product groups

New product group categories include:

  • Blower motors and resistors
  • Catalytic converters and mufflers
  • Clutch kits and components
  • Engine and transmission mounts
  • Radiator fan assemblies
  • Thermostats and water outlets
  • Window lift motors and assemblies

New hard product group categories include:

  • CV axles (constant velocity axles)
  • Belt tensioners and idler pulleys
  • Brake boosters and master cylinders
