Advance Auto Parts is celebrating 90 years in the industry.
According to a press release, the automotive aftermarket parts provider was founded by Arthur Taubman. Taubman started the business by installing customer tires outside of the store that he worked at. From there, Advance Auto Parts has grown to the nationally recognized brand it is today.
In addition to reflecting on its roots on this anniversary, Advance is also running a promotion through July 31 called the "Drive of Your Life". The promotion encourages customers to post a memorable driving moment on social media and tag the brand. Starting on July 14, one winner will be chosen each day to win free Shell gasoline for a year.
New and existing Advance Speed Perks Gas Rewards members will also earn 20 cents off each gallon of gas per single fill up at participating Shell stations for every $50 spent at Advance locations between July 13 and July 20.
“When we reflect on 90 years of commitment to customer care and confidence, we think about our journey behind the many miles we’ve helped motorists advance – both on the road and in their lives,” said Jason McDonell, Advance’s executive vice president of merchandising, marketing and eCommerce in the press release. “But even more so, we think about the inspiring, personal stories of those drives. We all have that one drive we'll never forget – the ‘Drive of Your Life.’ To celebrate our last 90 years and inspire our next 90, we want to hear yours.”
