May 17, 2021
This bulletin applies to 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade vehicles.

This bulletin applies to 2015-2016 Jeep Renegade vehicles. If the engine does not start at the first attempt, the electronic steering lock (ESL) module may need to be upgraded. DTC B1000-01 (electronic control unit – general electrical failure) may be stored in the ESL.

Reprogram the ESL with the latest software. Turn off the ignition, disconnect the wiTECH, open and close the driver’s door and let all modules go to sleep. Reconnect the wiTECH and clear any DTCs that may have been set in other modules.
