This bulletin applies to 2017-2018 Jeep Compass vehicles and involves updating the BSM (brake system module) with the latest software. Customers or technicians may experience a MIL illumination, accompanied by DTCs C10EC-00 (park brake actuator correlation) or C2222-68 (improper power down – event information).
The auto parking apply feature may be enabled, and when the ignition is cycled, the feature may disable itself. This feature will have to be enabled again in the radio setting (2017 model year only). Using a scan tool with diagnostic procedures available in TechCONNECT, check for other DTCs and address as needed before proceeding. Verify that the EPB is disengaged before attempting the BSM/ABS reprogramming session. Upon completion of the reprogramming session, perform a Proxy Alignment Procedure first, then perform the necessary ABS post flash routines. Failure to do so may result in the module not being reprogrammed correctly.
