Mazda Notes Code Reveals Exhaust Leak

This bulletin applies to 2013-2016 Mazda CX-5 vehicles. Some vehicles may exhibit a check engine light on with DTC P013A:00 stored in memory. This code refers to HO2S slow response during transition from rich to lean. This concern may be caused by an impact from a speed bump or other source, causing a deformation of the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the TWC catalytic converter.

This code refers to HO2S slow response during transition from rich to lean. This concern may be caused by an impact from a speed bump or other source, causing a deformation of the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the TWC catalytic converter.

If a leak is detected from the gasket, replace it with a modified part. Replace both flange nuts with new nuts, and be sure to torque the flange nuts to 37.6 ft.-lbs. (51 Nm). The new gasket is available as P/N PEY5-40-305. Flange nuts are P/N 9994-61-000.
