NASTF announces new Tesla Toolbox coming for the aftermarket

Tesla’s automaker page on the NASTF website will be updated with the latest information, including instructions for setting up the Tesla diagnostic tool.

The National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) sent a note to its members announcing that Tesla will soon be releasing a new version of the Tesla Toolbox for the aftermarket. The new version comes after multiple discussions between NASTF and Tesla since 2017, the task force said.

"As the Tesla Toolbox is available, but set for replacement soon, NASTF advises repairers to hold off on purchasing the current system, barring an immediate need," NASTF said in the announcement.

Tesla’s automaker page on the NASTF website will be updated with the latest information, including instructions for setting up the Tesla diagnostic tool.

"Please note that there are some Windows skills required as well as a custom cable that may be unfamiliar to many repairers," NASTF added.

The task force recommends reading the entire document and involving an IT professional if needed.
