Toyota is recalling certain 2021 C-HR vehicles due to a possible inoperative pre-collision system (PCS) that doesn't provide a malfunction indicator to the driver, or braking assist as expected, increasing the risk of a crash. There are potentially 36,558 vehicles affected.
The radar sensor may not have been activated during production, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall notice.
To remedy the recall, dealers will inspect and activate the radar sensor as necessary, free of charge.
Owners will be sent notification letters by April 11, 2022. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TA02. The NHTSA campaign number is 22V107000.
