Toyota is recalling certain 2022 Lexus vehicles due to a deactivated stability control system, increasing the likeliness of a crash. There are potentially 458,054 vehicles affected.

The Skid Control ECU software may not turn on the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system when the vehicle is restarted after the driver has disabled the VSC system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

Toyota will begin sending out recall notices in the mail in early May. Owners may contact Toyota's customer service by calling 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is 22TA03. Lexus' number for this recall is 22LA01.

To remedy the situation, dealers will update the Skid Control ECU software at no charge.

To check to see if your vehicle has an open recall, visit NHTSA's website or contact the NHTSA hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
