Originally started in 1991, the Bob Schoeberl Memorial Golf Tournament has become a renowned event within the industry. Started by the late Don Schlenger and the late Bob Schoeberl, this annual golf tournament is now a testament to the power of industry connections, vision, and philanthropy.
In 1991, Schlenger invited Schoebler to join the foundation (AACF) following Schoebler's retirement as a senior executive at Montgomery Ward. His respected leadership and connections became instrumental in raising awareness and funds for the foundation.
Schoeberl proposed the idea of organizing a golf tournament just before the SEMA/AAPEX event, leveraging the industry's significant presence and attendance in Las Vegas.
Tragically, in August 2013, Schoeberl unexpectedly passed away, leaving a noticeable hole in the industry and foundation. To honor his contributions, the executive board unanimously decided to rename the tournament the "Bob Schoeberl Memorial Golf Tournament."
Following his passing, the responsibility of organizing the tournament fell upon Shoeberl's close associate and mentee, Andy Dudash. The tournament now hosts over 100 industry company sponsors and over 250 attendees throughout the event.
The event will be held this year on October 30. For more information or to get involved, please contact Joel Ayres, [email protected], or visit the event page.
