Automotive Lift Institute makes Vehicle Lifting Points guide available online

May 2, 2024
The guide covers cars, SUVs, EVs, and light trucks made from 2000 to 2024.

The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) has made its 2024 edition of Vehicle Lifting Points for Frame Engaging Lifts available as a digital product or bundle of print and digital. Both versions cover more than the last two decades of cars, trucks, SUVs, and EVs, ranging from 2000 to 2024. The guides help users find OEM-recommended lifting points for most consumer vehicles and avoid the dangerous and costly mistakes that can result from using unconventional lifting points.

Up to three devices can utilize online access to the digital guide, which also includes a keyword search function for locating specific vehicles. With more than 250 undercarriage images in the guide, technicians can be confident in their assessments regardless of which version they use. Industry safety standards require shops to make lifting point information available to technicians and providing digital access to ALI's Vehicle Lifting Points for Frame Engaging Lifts fulfills that standard.

“While many customers prefer the always-on access, easy magnification and keyword search of the digital version, some still want a print copy, often because they don’t have connectivity in the shop,” ALI President R.W. “Bob” O’Gorman says. “Offering a bundled solution lets customers choose which format works best for them in any situation.”
