Aug. 8, 2024
The expansion includes new events, hands-on-traning, demos, and more.

Joe's Garage at AAPEX 2024 will expand to include new events, more hands-on training and demos, and an ADAS-focused presentation stage. Joe's Garage will encompass Level 1 of The Venetian Expo in Las Vegas.

For the first time, Joe's Garage will welcome the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) Powertrain Expo, the largest gathering of transmission repair specialists in the world. The Expo will include approximately 100 exhibiting companies presenting a showcase of innovation, expertise, and technology in the powertrain and automotive sectors.

AAPEX will also host a new event in Joe's Garage with teams of students racing against the clock to disassemble and reassemble an engine using hand tools. Quarterfinals and semifinals will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5 and 6, with the final set for November 7.

A 10-bay shop with fully operational lifts and vehicles will be at the center of the Garage for hands-on learning and daily product and equipment demonstrations by exhibiting manufacturers and suppliers. Live AAPEX training on Tesla drivetrain problem solving, EVs, servicing the Mach-E, and advanced application of electrical theory will take place in Bay 6.

On the ADAS stage, attendees can see product introductions, and training, and hear about the latest trends and insights from industry leaders. An expanded EV Experience will highlight products and services on the show floor, while presentations and training on EV repair and service will take place on the EV Stage.

Training partners, ATRA and WorldPac/WTI have joined the Joe'Garage lineup, offering approximately 20 sessions. More than 100 AAPEX-programmed and exhibitor-supplied technical and business management training opportunities will take place during the event. This year, ASE has identified sessions on the AAPEX training schedule that will help attendees prepare for ASE certifications.

Additionally, Joe's Garage will include special sections dedicated to Tools and Equipment, Diagnostics/Telematics/Shop Management Solutions, Tire Servicing, and Transmission Supplier.
