Launch Tech USA announced a strategic partnership with the National Automotive Service Task Force (NASTF) to address vehicle security and the integrity of automotive repair services. According to the company, there are three key objectives of the partnership.
First, the organizations plan to implement new technologies and protocols aimed at reducing car theft for vehicle owners. The focus is on validating security functions in tools so that only authorized users can operate those tools.
The second objective of the partnership is to prevent tool and property losses associated with the theft of automotive diagnostic tools by enhancing the security measures used with those tools. Launch Tech USA uses a validation process similar to those used by original equipment manufacturers to ensure that its scan tools are being used by credentialed and authorized users.
Finally, the partners are focusing on mitigating risks to locksmiths by ensuring that they have access to secure and reliable tools that can handle the sensitive security functions locksmiths run into on the job.
"We are proud to partner with NASTF in this critical effort to enhance automotive security," Eric Pagliughi, vice president of marketing and product development at Launch Tech USA. "Our shared commitment to reducing vehicle theft, protecting valuable tools, and ensuring the safety of automotive professionals is at the core of this partnership. By implementing a rigorous validation process, we are setting a new standard in the aftermarket industry, one that aligns with the best practices of automakers."
"Launch Tech has been leading this industry-driven initiative from the very beginning, so it is no surprise they were also the first to develop and launch a new series of tools with validated security operations,” said Donny Seyfer, executive officer of the National Automotive Service Task Force. "This is an ideal partnership for NASTF and we look for it to mark a significant positive change in our industry."
