The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP) of Illinois announced that the recent decision to dissolve the AASP National coalition would have no impact on AASP Illinois or its efforts within the automotive industry as it operates independently of the national organization.
AASP National is contributing $100,000 to the Database Enhancement Gateway to ensure the ongoing industry resource continues to operate. The remaining assets of the national coalition will be divided equally among the affiliates in good standing, including AASP Illinois, AASP Massachusetts, AASP New Jersey, AASP Pennsylvania, Automotive Service and Tire Alliance of North Carolina, and New York State Association of Service Stations and Repair Shops.
AASP Illinois also announced the launch of Business Impact Groups (BIG) for discussing issues within the collision and repair industries. Registration is currently open to anyone in the automotive industry, and two BIG Workshop meetings are planned for October 16, 2024, and November 19, 2024. The workshops will focus on Diminished Value Assessments, Total Loss Appraisals, Post-Repair Inspections, and Vehicle Valuations. The organization is also holding its annual conference and trade expo, Overdrive in '25, on February 22, 2025.
