The National Insititute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) announced a partnership between ASE, the ASE Education Foundation, and WrenchWay, an online community for promoting and improving technician careers. The focus of the partnership is to promote WrenchWay's School Assist platform as a solution for connecting vehicle service employers and schools in finding classroom resources and creating the workforce pipeline of the future for the industry.
School Assist makes it easier for high schools and post-secondary schools to work with the industry and make requests for guest speakers, shop tours, tool donations, internships, and more. In turn, shops, dealerships, and other industry organizations can view the requests, connect with schools, and establish relationships with future members of the workforce. Industry members are also able to post resources for educators and collaborate with schools on opportunities for students.
“At ASE, we recognize the critical importance of connecting schools with the transportation industry to ensure the next generation of service professionals are well-prepared for the workforce,” said Dave Johnson, president and CEO of ASE. “Our partnership with WrenchWay, utilizing School Assist, allows us to super-charge those connections previously enabled by our Adopt-A-School program. It provides schools with the tools and resources they need in one centralized platform. This partnership underscores our commitment to solving the technician shortage by bringing industry and education together to create local solutions for a national problem.”
As a part of the new partnership, WrenchWay will introduce a new lower-cost option for joining its Top Shop membership program. Currently, 1,000 shops and dealerships have access to School Assist through the membership program. ASE and WrenchWay plan to continue to collaborate on marketing efforts and product development.
“ASE’s commitment to helping create the next generation of certified technicians is unparalleled along with their industry-standard accreditation and Adopt-A-School program, bringing employers and educators together,” said Mark Wilson, co-founder and CEO of WrenchWay. “We are thrilled to join forces on School Assist and other industry initiatives.”
