Snap-on software upgrade features new Tesla coverage

Nov. 14, 2024
The update will include coverage for Tesla Model S and Model X vehicles.

Snap-on introduces coverage for the Tesla Model S and Model X with their latest software upgrade.

Technicians using Snap-on diagnostic tools with the newest software can now service Tesla vehicles with brand-new coverage for 2012-2020 Model S and 2016-2020 Model X. The new coverage includes ABS, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), body, charging, chassis, door and seats, high voltage, HVAC, infotainment, powertrain, restraint, and security.

Additional support is available for 2023 and older Model S and Model X manual procedures for on-board functions such as service mode, service alerts, and gateway unlock.

The latest software upgrade also offers exclusive guided component tests for Tesla ABS. Guided component tests streamline the overall diagnostic process by showing where to hook up, how to hook up, known good waveforms, and much more, eliminating the guesswork and confirming the repair.

Guided components tests for the 2012-2022 Model S and 2015-2022 Model X include ABS module, brake fluid level switch, brake pedal switch, electric brake booster, electronic parking brake actuator, iBooster pedal sensor, wheel speed sensor, and yaw rate sensor.

Technicians can learn OEM-specific training free on the Snap-on Diagnostics YouTube channel.

In addition to Tesla, Snap-on EV coverage is offered for Alfa Romeo, Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Fiat, Ford, Genesis, GMC, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Volkswagen, and more.
